Cari amici e lettori,
questa volta vi vogliamo parlare di una delle nostre ultime tappe che ci ha portato all’estero, in una delle località più esclusive di tutta Europa. Parliamo infatti di Saint Moritz, località alpina della Svizzera (nella valle dell’Engadina, a pochi chilometri dal confine italiano) dove abbiamo vissuto un’esperienza stupenda all’Art Boutique Hotel Monopol (via Maistra 17).
In questa struttura alberghiera a 4 stelle abbiamo potuto vivere un momento di relax al rooftop ‘St. Moritz Sky Bar’
L’ambiente del ‘St. Moritz Sky Bar’ (al sesto piano) si presenta caldo e accogliente, puntando a ricreare un salottino elegante e raffinato perfetto per la convivialità ed il relax dopo una giornata tra impianti di risalita o passeggiate naturalistiche o lungo il viale pedonale caratteristico di questo diamante delle montagne.
Ampie vetrate permettono di ammirare sia il lago che sentirsi avvolgere dalle altissime montagne, la zona all’aperto presenta una parte open air con un focolare esterno ed una chiusa in una specie di veranda, c un creando così un mood di montagna caldo e suggestivo.
Ci accomodiamo su un tavolino con divanetti e cominciamo la nostra drink experience sfogliando la cocktail list che presenta una serie di proposte classiche, signature drinks ed un’ampia selezione di birre.
La nostra scelta è caduta sullo Sky Bar Punch ( rum, campari, succo di limone e ananas e zucchero) e un Matcha Sour (gin, match tee, succo di limone, vaniglia, zucchero e albume d’uovo), due cocktail dalle note agrodolci ed un cenno più ‘erbaceo’ dato dal celebre tè verde giapponese nel secondo drink citato, entrambi promossi a pieni voti.
Abbiamo deciso di concludere questa bellissima esperienza con elementi che caratterizzassero pienamente il territorio dell’Engadina; per questo motivo, su consiglio dello staff, abbiamo potuto degustare l’amaro Appenzeller (ambrato concentrato di 42 erbe, spezie naturali e luppolo con una ricetta che resta però segreta e gelosamente custodita) e un bicchiere di Orma Whisky del golf club dell’Engadina, la distilleria più in quota al mondo.
Voglio ringraziare in primis Dominik Zurbrügg per averci permesso di vivere a Saint Moritz questa esperienza di alto livello che sicuramente replicheremo in futuro, ma non mi dimentico della cortesia e professionalità di tutto lo staff (in particolare Alessandro, Alessio e Gianluca). this time we have the pleasure to tell you about one of our latest trips that took us abroad, to one of the most exclusive destinations of all Europe. We’re talking about St. Moritz, an Alpine resort in Switzerland (in the Engadine Valley, just a few kilometers from the Italian border), where we had a wonderful experience at the Art Boutique Hotel Monopol (via Maistra 17). At this 4-star hotel, we enjoyed a relaxing moment at the rooftop “St. Moritz Sky Bar”.
The St. Moritz Sky Bar (on the sixth floor) is warm and welcoming, creating an elegant and refined lounge, perfect for conviviality and relax after a day on the ski lifts, hiking in nature, or along the characteristic pedestrian promenade of this jewel of the mountains. Large windows allow for views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The outdoor area features an open-air section with an outdoor fireplace and a closed veranda, creating a warm and evocative mountain atmosphere.
We sat at a table with sofas to begin our drink experience by browsing the cocktail list, which offers a series of classics, signature drinks and a big selection of beers.
Our choice fell on the Sky Bar Punch (rum, Campari, lemon and pineapple juice, and sugar) and a Matcha Sour (gin, matcha tee, lemon juice, vanilla, sugar, and egg white), two cocktails with sweet and sour notes and a more herbal touch from the famous Japanese green tea in the latter drink, both were amazing! We decided to conclude this wonderful experience with elements that truly typify the Engadine region; for this reason, thanking at the staff’s recommendation, we were able to taste the Appenzeller bitter (an amber-colored concentrate of 42 herbs, natural spices, and hops, made with a recipe that remains a closely guarded secret) and a glass of Orma Whisky from the Engadine Golf Club, the highest distillery in the world.
At first I want to thank Dominik Zurbrügg for allowing us to enjoy this high-quality experience in St. Moritz, which we will certainly repeat in the future. I dont’ forget the courtesy and professionalism of the entire staff (especially Alessandro, Alessio, and Gianluca). Now a little photogallery of this beautiful moment…
