Legato alla gestione dell’Amber Bar (di cui vi parleremo nei prossimi articoli), all’interno di una location più tradizionale nel centro storico di Basilea, abbiamo potuto visitare il ‘Grenzwert Bar’, al civico 14 di Ochsengrasse.
Il Grenzwert si apre ai suoi avventori come il classico pub dove ti aspetti di sedere al bancone o in qualche tavolo nella sala più interna e bere ottima birra nel mood della tradizione tedesca. E’ quindi una sorpresa scoprire che oltre alle spillatrici della bevanda regionale per eccellenza, il locale offra anche una proposta di cocktails, distillati e altre preparazioni di alto livello, varietà di scelta e buona miscelazione, come il nostro ‘Rum old fashioned’ (a base di rum scuro invece che di bourbon come da ricetta classica, zucchero, angostura bitter e zeste d’arancia).
Atmosfera molto rilassante, buona musica e ottimi drink: qua vogliamo ringraziare Sebastian, lo staff del Grenzwert e soprattutto Cecile (che ci ha permesso di immergerci nel mood anche dell’Amber) per l’ospitalità ricevuta…

Related to the management of the Amber Bar (which we will tell you more about this in the next articles), within a more traditional location in the historic center of Basel, we were able to visit the ‘Grenzwert Bar’ (Ochsengrasse 14)
Grenzwert appears at first sight like a classic pub where you will expect to sit at the counter or at a table in the inner room and drink excellent beer in the spirit of German tradition.. It is a surprise discover that this place also offers a selection of cocktails, spirits and other high-quality preparations, a variety of choice and good mixology, such as our ‘Rum Old Fashioned‘ (dark rum instead of bourbon as per the classic recipe, sugar, Angostura bitters and orange zest).
A very relaxing atmosphere, good music, and excellent drinks: we want to thank Sebastian, the Grenzwert staff, and especially Cecile (who allowed us to immerse ourselves in the Amber atmosphere, too) for their hospitality.
