Il nostro ‘drink tasting tour‘ svizzero a Basilea è proseguito destinazione ‘Bar Rouge’, rooftop bar e club con una vista mozzafiato a 360 gradi sulla città, una location tra terra e cielo che sorge in Messeplatz al numero 10 (al 30 e 31esimo piano, a 105 metri di altezza).
Al nostro arrivo ci ha accolto Sascha Straubhaar e accompagnato all’ascensore che porta direttamente all’ultimo piano, dando qualche info sul concept del locale: il rooftop e cocktail bar (aperto fino alle ore 22 per un aperitivo o momento lounge) e due piani di club, dove in uno regna più il genere reggaeton mentre l’altro ha uno stile più open nel design e del sound.
Ci accomodiamo al bancone del lounge club al 31esimo piano già in piene vibes serata disco e subito rimaniamo colpiti dalla vista; non potrebbe essere altrimenti grazie alle vetrate overview su ogni lato della sala dalle quali ammirare l’intera città dall’alto. Anche la drink list si rivela essere una piacevole scoperta: ricercatezza, selezione, ampia scelta di cocktail dai classici alle miscelazioni rivisitate, è raro trovare una proposta simile in uno spazio club discoteca dove al “bere bene” viene data una priorità. Il Bar Rouge invece sceglie di offrire un’esperienza di livello completa e scegliamo di provare il loro ‘Espresso Martini’ (Koskenkorva Vodka origine finlandese, liquore di caffè fatto in casa, espresso, contreau, sciroppo di vaniglia e un bitter al cacao) e dalla proposta mocktails un ‘Virgin amaretto sour’ (analcolico Martini Floreale, sciroppo di amarena kirsch e nota agrumata con succo di limone e arancia e come garnish un big marshmallow fiammeggiato). Bellissima esperienza e la perfetta combo di sapori, luci e suoni; grazie ancora a tutto lo staff e in particolare a Sasha, torneremo per vivere anche il rooftop bar, purtroppo già chiuso al nostro arrivo.

Our Swiss ‘drink tasting tour’ in Basel continued to ‘Bar Rouge’, a rooftop bar and club with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city, a location between earth and sky located at number 10 in Messeplatz (on the 30th and 31st floors, 105 meters above sea level).
Upon our arrival, Sascha Straubhaar welcomed us and accompanied us to the elevator that takes us directly to the top floor, providing some information on the venue’s concept: the rooftop and cocktail bar (open until 10 pm for an aperitif or lounge moment) and two floors of clubbing, where one is more reggaeton-oriented while the other has a more open style in terms of design and sound.
We sit at the bar of the lounge club on the 31st floor, already in full disco vibes, and we are immediately struck by the view; it couldn’t be otherwise thanks to the panoramic windows on each side of the room from which we can admire the entire city from above. The drink list also turns out to be a pleasant discovery: refinement, selection, a wide choice of cocktails from classics to revisited mixes, it is rare to find a similar proposal in a club disco space where “drinking well” is given priority..
Bar Rouge offers a full-service experience and we have chosen to try their Espresso Martini (Koskenkorva Vodka of Finnish origin, house-made coffee liqueur, espresso, contreau, vanilla syrup, and cocoa bitters) and, from their mocktails selection, a Virgin Amaretto Sour (a non-alcoholic floral Martini, cherry kirsch syrup, and a citrus note of lemon and orange juice, garnished with a large flamed marshmallow). A wonderful experience, the perfect combination of flavors, lights, and sounds.
Thanks again to all the staff for this beautiful moment, especially Sasha. We’ll be back to live the experience in the rooftop bar, which unfortunately was already closed when we arrived.
