Recentemente il nostro ‘cocktail bar tour’ oltre confine ci ha portato sulle rive del fiume Isar a Monaco di Baviera (più precisamente in Biedersteiner Straße 6) dove, scendendo un breve rampa di scale, si entra in un mondo insolito in cui la mixology si esprime con teatralità: il locale è il ‘Call Soul Breaking Bar’, che prende ispirazione dalla serie statunitense ‘Breaking Bad’ e ‘Better Call Saul’.
Al Call Soul Breaking Bar si respira un’aria quasi mistica, l’ambiente è moderno, i cocktail che si vedono passare tra i tavoli o che altri avventori stanno già consumando riflettono il locale, aprendo l’immaginario a qualcosa che si rivelerà insolito. Su una parete troviamo un grande schermo, quasi come una finestra che fa spiare al suo interno una sorta di laboratorio, dove ‘folli’ mixologists fanno i loro ‘esperimenti’ e composizioni.
La drink list è una tavoletta di legno/compensato dove su un lato viene riportata la proposta food e dall’altra i vari cocktails declinati partendo dalle classiche basi gin, vodka, whisky, tequila e da lì nascono le più curiose combinazioni. Noi abbiamo scelto di provare uno Smokey Soul (con note rinfrescanti, fruttate, tropicali con gin artigianale, menta fresca, passion fruit, mystic mango), servito all’interno di una grande ampolla a forma di diamante e reso scenografico da un’essenza ad effetto smokey, e non poteva mancare l’Espresso Martini nella sua versione ‘crazy’ in 3 formule a base tequila, cocktail, shot and smoke accompagnato ed esaltato con un accompagnamento di pezzetti di cioccolato e salatini di bretzel. Ci siamo concessi un altro drink scenografico, ma vogliamo lasciarlo misterioso perché questo locale è davvero unico!
Menzione particolare va fatto allo staff, soprattutto al simpaticissimo Ardian e Fuuga che impersonificano il mood del Call Soul, dove con grande accoglienza si passa una serata divertente, unica nel suo genere e con grandi cocktail di alto livello. Recently our ‘cocktail bar tour’ in Europe took us to the Isar River in Munich (Biedersteiner Straße 6) where, under a short flight of stairs, we can enter in an unusual world where mixology is theatrically expressed: this is the ‘Call Soul Breaking Bar’, which takes inspiration from the American series ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’.
At Call Soul Breaking Bar there’s a modern and magic atmosphere. The atmosphere is modern, and the cocktails reflect the venue, opening the imagination to something that will prove unusual. On one wall, a large screen appears, almost like a window, allowing one to glimpse a sort of laboratory inside, where ‘crazy’ mixologists conduct their ‘experiments’ and compositions.
The drinks list is a wooden/plywood board with the food options on one side and the various cocktails on the other, based on the classic bases of gin, vodka, whiskey, and tequila, from which the most unusual combinations can be created. We chose to try a Smokey Soul (with refreshing, fruity, tropical notes featuring artisanal gin, fresh mint, passion fruit, and mystic mango), served in a large diamond-shaped flask and enhanced with a smokey essence. And of course, we couldn’t miss the Espresso Martini in its “crazy” version, available in three tequila-based recipes, a cocktail, a shot, and a smoke, accompanied and enhanced with chocolate chips and pretzel snacks. We treated ourselves to another spectacular drink, but we want to keep it a mystery because this place is truly unique!
